Multi-grain veggie Chapati

My year and a half old daughter is one of the very fussy eaters I know of. Seems as if nothing pleases her palate that easily. She has simple conditions, food should not stick to her fingers and she should be able to control what she eats and how much she eats, by  only feeding herself from her own tiny hand.
After much resistance from her, I finally figured that she likes anything similar to Chapatis. Now, she likes only chapatis and nothing along with it. So I had to find a way to sneak in the good vegetables. Using all my creativity to sneak in all the possible nutritious items in a single meal, I came up with this new recipe. It’s original and guess what? my toddler liked it and better yet, my husband loved it too.
I am sure all those of you with a tiny picky eater can totally empathise with me and you’ll be happy to find a new nutritious food that your toddler too will love!
Things you’ll need:
  • 2 cups 100% whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup Raagi (millet) flour
  • 1 cup Rice flour
  • 1/2 cup Chickpea / Besan flour
  • 1 cup Paneer grated
  • 1 cup Boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup  Carrot grated
  • 1/2 cup Dill weed (Sapsige soppu) chopped and cooked
  • 1/4 tsp Red Chilli powder
  • 1/4 tspGround Black pepper
  • Salt to taste
How it’s done:
  • Mix all the ingredients first. Optionally add a bit of whole milk to get the right dough consistency.
  • Similar to regular chapati, roll out the dough balls.
  • Cook both sides on the tava/griddle with a little oil.
  • Serve with whole yogurt

Nice recipe and looks delicious. I am going to try this out for myself. I have recently been diagnosed with GD. I am just 3 months pregnant but because I have a strong history of diabetes in my paternal family, my dr. did my tests before.I read your post on GD too. I am looking for different recipes that can be tried and are good for controlling GD in general.

Do you know if this is good and can be eaten while trying to control GD through diet alone?

Speak your mind.. I'd love to hear from you!
